Dr. Terry J. Holder, Ph.D., ACI
Dr. Holder became a home inspector due to his passion for the construction industry after teaching high school AgriScience and Construction and also being a licensed home builder in Alabama and a construction company co-owner in the Birmingham area for nearly 30 years. He was also a National Board Certified Teacher. Terry has a Bachelors of Science, Masters of Science, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Auburn University and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Montevallo. He was also an Educational Administrator where he served as Assistant Principal at Chelsea High School and Principal/Career Technical Education Director in Bibb County prior to his retirement from his education career. Terry is married to Pat Holder, a retired counselor at Oak Mountain High School, and they have 3 children and 1 grandchild. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves deer hunting and doing European Skull Mounts using Dermestid Beetles.
Terry has completed the National Home Inspector Examination and the American Society of Home Inspectors Standards and Ethics Examination. He is a proud member of ASHI – American Society of Home Inspectors and ASHI South where he serves as Vice President for the Alabama organization. He is also a certified residential thermographer. Dr. Holder serves as the State Education Director for the Alabama Home Inspector Organization where he teaches numerous courses including Residential New Construction for Alabama and Report Writing. Residence Doctor Home Inspection is an affiliate member of the Birmingham Association of Realtors.
